Director of Software Product Development

Position Description: 

This position is responsible for the overall management of DataServ's product development team. The team is responsible for all aspects of software development from technical design through implementation in a rich internet application environment. This position leads a cross functional team to coordinate the mapping of feature requirements into product releases. The director is also responsible for ensuring that the product meets client and internal user needs while managing the release schedule and development staff to ensure high quality releases. The director estimates budget needs and manages within annual and project budget.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, publish and meet release schedules, keep all stakeholders informed of product status at all times; Allocate resources to ensure predictable delivery
  • Leading the development efforts of the products through the full product life cycle based on input from all stakeholders and your own vision for the solutions. Coordinate effectively with other DataServ departments to surface product innovation ideas.
  • Drive technical product design, influence product requirements and testing methods
  • Hiring, motivating, and managing employees and contract labor
  • Ensure the product development group meets budget and project objectives
  • Develop and maintain current technical, consulting and document management knowledge-base by attending industry-related user group meetings, vendor training and seminars
  • Provide direction and management in the development of manuals, help files, application notes and tech support web pages.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Strong blend of technical aptitude, management and communication skills
  • 10+ years of Software development experience with web application experience
  • 5+ years of management experience managing teams of software developers and leading software projects and achieving targets on schedule and budget
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing to product development schedules and driving the product roadmap
  • Hands on experience in managing software application development projects in the area of data protection, high availability and disaster recovery solutions from conception, through development into commercial deployment.
  • Experience with direct client interaction as well as among other company functions/departments.
  • Experience with leading edge system testing
  • Professional and systematic approach to documentation
  • Thorough understanding of full application development lifecycle and usage of formal management methodologies
  • Manage a product development team by leading the recruiting, staffing and hiring of employees and contractors within the team. The person will be responsible for setting individual objectives and reviewing employee performance
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills Proven ability to multitask, prioritize, and follow-up

Position Description:

Responsible for architecting, deploying and managing project implementations of DataServ’s Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) document management solution. The DSC works closely with new and existing US and international DataServ clients as well as various internal departments to implement our solution, often managing several projects simultaneously. Typical responsibilities include creation of the Scope of Work document, business requirements analysis, solution design and implementation, test plan creation and execution, process documentation and management of miscellaneous project deliverables.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete implementation projects within budgeted hours while meeting or exceeding DataServ quality standards and client expectations.
  • Interface with the entire DataServ implementation team, including various internal departments and all levels of management.
  • Create and maintain system and process documentation and perform knowledge transfer to Client Service and Technical Support team members.
  • Participate in product development efforts to broaden DataServ’s core service offerings.
  • Develop and maintain current technical, consulting and document management knowledge-base by attending industry-related user group meetings, vendor training and seminars.

Qualification and Requirements:

Position Description: 

Accountable for the achievement of company growth goals by delivering superior client satisfaction through the recruiting, hiring, training and managing of a highly effective sales team and the development of effective marketing strategies. Reports to the Managing Partner/CEO.

Responsibilities:

  • Locating and recruiting the best Account Managers in the EDM and SaaS industries through national contacts such as competitors, trade associations, vendors, recruiters, etc.
  • Strategic account planning with members of the sales team.
  • Gathering and cataloging competitor information and distributing it to Account Managers, Client Support staff and other DataServ audiences.
  • Continuous improvement and development of sales team members through weekly coaching sessions, "ride-alongs", post-call de-brief sessions and sales roundtable discussions.
  • Performance of annual and quarterly evaluations, counseling, discipline and dismissal (if required).
  • Participation in development of departmental budgets and cost controls associated with the distribution of said budgets.
  • Selection, evaluation and potential attendance and participation at industry trade shows/summits and conferences.
  • Management of internal sales reporting systems such as call reports, activity, projections, forecasts, etc. for delivery to the rest of the management team.
  • Travel as needed to manage remote sales staff. Creation of appropriate communications and reporting systems to insure accurate and timely management of remote personnel.

Internal Account Manager

Position Description:

  • Responsible for company lead generation via phone calls, emails and other appropriate channels and then nurturing those leads through the DataServ marketing pipeline, eventually handing off qualified leads to the Sales Department.

    Reports to the Director of Marketing

Responsibilities:

  • Research and profile targeted prospect companies to identify key contacts, uncover opportunities and then use this market intelligence to promote those leads to a hand-off stage for Account Managers who will then focus on selling and closing. 
  • Outbound calling to database prospects, prospective customer lists and conduct call campaigns in support of our seminars and other marketing activities. 
  • Meet or exceed established monthly goals for dials made and opportunities transitioned to the field. 
  • Effectively identify and document prospect's needs, expectations and priorities in order to hand-off lead to Account Managers effectively. 
  • Develop relationships with individuals and departments at all levels within prospective client organizations through professional methods and techniques. 
  • Be an “intercom” within prospective client organizations. 
  • Engage in professional follow up on leads from our website, advertising, trade shows and speaking engagements. 
  • Acquire proficiency with CRM System and maintain and update records in CRM system. 
  • Maintain DataServ marketing pipeline with appropriate number of leads at each stage. 
  • Maintenance of appropriate records for the monitoring of activity, such as entry of notes into CRM system, expense reports, call reports and sales forecasts or projections. 
  • Pursue and maintain a complete understanding of all DataServ document-centric solutions? and be able to work with the proper DataServ Specialist in order to uncover business opportunities from all possible applications within each prospect organization. 
  • Deliver standard ‘About Us’ presentation via Webex to interested leads.

Experience:

  • 1-2 years of Marketing or Sales Experience.
  • Exhibit strong written and verbal skills.
  • College degree a plus with proven academic success in Computer Science, Business or Liberal Arts.
  • Ability to grasp technology-based business process flows within Finance & Administration space and maintain an understanding of our marketplace including competitors.
  • Knowledge of or familiarity with Software as a Service (SaaS) business model a plus.
  • Experience prospecting for intangibles, such as business services, consulting or other non-product oriented offering a distinct plus
  • Formal sales training a plus.

  • Technical help desk experience preferred; to include 1st tier support
